Hola amigos!! Hoy quiero contarles mi sorpresa hace algunos meses, cuando la maestra me dijo que Miguel sería promovido a 1 grado, ya que yo juraba que iba para 3 nivel, para mí el primer grado implica un gran reto, debe aprender a leer, a sumar, estar más tiempo sentado en fin son un sin número de cosas que pasaron por mi mente. Solo pensaba será que se adaptará a ese nuevo grado, logrará alcanzar los objetivos, le pregunté a la a la maestra, me dijo que eso se debía a una nueva adaptación curricular del Ministerio de Educación, los niños deberían avanzar a 1 grado si van a cumplir 6 años antes de septiembre. Y Miguel cumple 6 en octubre. Después de digerir la noticia me dije a mi misma, manos a la obra, debo prepararlo para afrontar la situación y allí comencé a investigar estrategias para iniciarlo en la lectura y las matemáticas.
Antes de contarles todo el proceso debo destacar que el es un niño muy inteligente y con mucha retentiva, pero como todo ser humano hay temas que no son de su interés, por lo cual no le pone mucho empeño. Encontré una técnica con post-it, me pareció bastante divertida, ya que a él le gusta estar en movimiento. La misma consiste en colocar en cada papelito una consonante con su vocal e ir formando palabras y luego oraciones, podíamos ayudarnos con dibujos. Por ejemplo colocas ma-me-mi-mo-mu en los post-it azules y pa-pe-pi-po-pu en los verdes y le pides que arme palabras como papá, mamá, mopa, también puedes ponerle imágenes o las fotos de mamá y papá y pedirle que arme la palabra junto al dibujo. Esta técnica nos está funcionando, muestra interés en hacerlo, ya nosotros superamos armar palabras, ahora estamos haciendo oraciones.
En cuanto a las matemáticas arme una caja con diferentes recursos, le expliqué que esa es la caja de las matemáticas. En ese recipiente coloque diferentes objetos que nos ayudará a llevar las sumas o restas de los abstracto a lo numérico (no se si es la forma correcta de decirlo) y nos a funcionado bastante bien, aún no comenzamos a restar pronto entraremos en ese mundo.
Mi intención con adelantarlo en todo esto, es que esa transición que va a experimentar no sea tan traumática, mi mamá es docente jubilada, siempre me cuenta que algunos niños el primer grado se les hace dificil, por que en ocasiones no reciben apoyo de sus padres y que los niños que mejor se adaptan son los que en cierta forma van encaminados en lo básico.
No a sido facil, yo soy enfermera, la enseñanza no es mi fuerte, en ocasiones pierdo la paciencia, cuando eso me pasa me retiro, pienso alguna nueva forma nuevo de hacerlo aprender y vengo recargada, siempre estoy buscando estrategias para que el proceso sea más fácil y a su vez divertido, trato de relacionar todo con temas que sean de su interés y hacer recesos para no abrumarlo.
Quiero mantenerlo motivado aprender, siempre me dice que quiere ir a conocer la biblioteca, en el dia a dia le recuerdo eso y se emociona por aprender a leer para realizar esa visita que seguro disfrutaremos un montón. I just thought he will adapt to this new grade, he will achieve the objectives, I asked the teacher, she told me that this was due to a new curriculum adaptation of the Ministry of Education, children should advance to 1st grade if they are going to turn 6 years old before September. And Miguel turns 6 in October. After digesting the news I said to myself, let's get to work, I must prepare him to face the situation and I began to investigate strategies to initiate him in reading and mathematics.
Before telling you about the whole process, I must point out that he is a very intelligent and retentive child, but like all human beings there are subjects that are not of interest to him, so he does not put much effort into them. I found a technique with post-it notes, I found it quite fun, since he likes to be in motion. It consists of placing on each piece of paper a consonant with its vowel and forming words and then sentences, we could help ourselves with drawings. For example, you put ma-me-mi-mo-mu on the blue post-its and pa-pe-pi-po-pu on the green ones and ask him to put together words like dada, mama, mop, you can also put pictures or photos of mama and dada and ask him to put the word together with the picture. This technique is working for us, he shows interest in doing it, we have already overcome putting words together, now we are making sentences.
As for math I put together a box with different resources, I explained to him that this is the math box. In that container I put different objects that will help us to take the additions or subtractions from the abstract to the numerical (I don't know if that's the right way to say it) and it has worked pretty well, we haven't started subtracting yet and soon we will enter that world.
My intention in bringing him forward in all this, is that this transition that he will experience is not so traumatic, my mom is a retired teacher, she always tells me that some children find first grade difficult, because sometimes they do not receive support from their parents and that the children who adapt better are those who in some way are on track in the basics.
It has not been easy, I am a nurse, teaching is not my forte, sometimes I lose my patience, when that happens to me I withdraw, I think of a new way to make him learn and I come recharged, I am always looking for strategies to make the process easier and at the same time fun, I try to relate everything to topics that are of interest to him and take breaks so as not to overwhelm him.
I want to keep him motivated to learn, he always tells me he wants to go to the library, on a daily basis I remind him of that and he gets excited about learning to read to make that visit that we will surely enjoy a lot. Felicidades amiga, que bueno que tu niño este motivado hacer las actividades, en estas vacaciones inicialo a la lectura y escritura sin forzarlo, las cartillas son muy buenas, inicia con vocales, y números del 1 al 10, las silabas tiene su orden de enseñarlas tambien, te recomiendo el libro Mi Jardin! y un libro donde el pueda hacer actividades de apresto para soltar su mano con el lápiz (hacer trazos sobre puntitos), en las librerias los venden yo compre uno llamado Pasito a Pasito. También estan unos llamados Guaralitos son muy buenos. Saludos y Suerte con tu Niño 😊

Que bonito que busques información para ayudar a Miguel.Es un aprendizaje mutuo y lo importante es que debes tratar que le gusten los números y sus combinaciones, para eso hay tacos numerados para que aprenda jugando. Cuando ya se enfrente a la matemática no le va a tener miedo.

Sabes que lo mismo sucedió con mi hija, pero estando en sala dos, por la misma situación la pasaron sin terminar el año escolar a sala tres y para ella fue traumatico, creo que porque ni siquiera había terminado salita dos. Muchos niños we adaptaron súper bien, pero a Miranda le costó tanto que la regresaron a su salón.
En el caso de Miguel, gracias a que culminó toda su salita dos más las vacaciones que te ayudarán a prepararlo se que será un éxito la adaptación!

Felicidades a Miguel! seguro le ira muy bien, sus capacidad junto con tu apoyo son una gran dupla. Me imagino la sorpresa, pero igual que hiciese un 3er nivel teniendo los conocimientos para 1er grado podria tornarse aburrido para él.
