KINDNESS IN ITS WORLD.

Have you ever thought of living in a world where the expression of kindness is missing?

Kindness doesn't need to be trapped but expressed without planning.- Winanda

Hello friends!

It's been a while. I hope you are doing great out there. Even though the days may be tough, DON'T GIVE UP, BE GRATEFUL for whatever you have and the door will be opened for more blessings.

Now let's dive into the world of kindness... shall we?

Understanding Kindness.

I feel whatever triggers that act of kindness is where the kindness lies. For me, kindness comes from a place of empathy, and consideration, with no force or pressure leading to the expression. It is a spontaneous expression and should not be planned for. It is when you express a friendly act, which could be as little as a smile to a stranger,...
even though a smile means a lot... which could mean so much and be all that was needed to brighten up the stranger's day.

Showing kindness is not only restricted or limited to human beings, we can also be kind to animals and plants by caring for them and being sure they are in good condition.

Now let's check this:

You can do something for someone not because you truly care about the person's situation but because you were under pressure to do it, it was never your intention, and so it did not come from a place of empathy and happiness. In that case, it is not seen as kindness...I guess you will agree with me on that.

When kindness is expressed, it influences the entire environment positively and not only those who receive the act of kindness. This creates an avenue for people around to replicate a little act of kindness and when kindness keeps making a positive impact from one community to another, it will shine all over the world and add the beauty and joy that kindness brings which we desire.

Experiencing Kindness.

We go about our daily activities without an idea of their outcome, and so being open and ready to receive a helping hand along the way, when stuck, is a way to embrace and experience kindness. I would also add that being kind to ourselves matters a lot. Feeding our minds with positive affirmations is being kind to ourselves. I feel like if we are kind to ourselves, we could also extend the kindness to others because it's part of us. When we feel the effect of the kindness passed to others around us, we receive a sense of satisfaction and appreciate the gestures of kindness.

I experience kindness often but I have one to share with you.

A quick story of how I experienced kindness.

I dressed up and set out for church about a few minutes before 7 am, it was the last Sunday in February 2024 and after waiting for a tricycle to take me out of my street, none was forthcoming, so I began to walk down my street where I could board a bus to my church, the Sun was out by that time casting its rays against my eyes and all I wished was to find a tricycle on my way.

Fortunately for me, as I was walking, a car stopped and the couple asked me to come in, I saw that they had already taken the two other women who stood with me and also waited for a tricycle. They drove me halfway through my journey and I came down with the other women because the couple were heading in a different direction and I expressed my gratitude to them for their kind gesture. I was so happy that morning. I felt good and I'm sure the couple did as well. It was my first time seeing the couple on my street and they felt like giving me a lift.

Over To Practicing Kindness.

I believe it is best to be an example of kindness, practising it without expecting a return or a reward. This encourages those around us and promotes kindness in our environment.

Here are some ways in which I genuinely practise kindness and you too can:

  • Assisting those around me when they are in need.
  • Sacrificing time to listen to someone, paying attention and showing concern.
  • Expressing words of encouragement to others to motivate them.
  • Caring for the elderly ones around me, giving up my seat for them.
  • Showing concern for pregnant women when I see them queued up, I permit them to get attended to and plead with others on the line.
  • Caring for animals. Recently, it has been fun hunting for snails in my parents' garden, bathing them, and feeding them with cabbage, and water.

  • Sending messages to celebrate others' success and birthdays.
  • Complimenting others on their looks and on the work or tasks they do.
  • Sharing my knowledge with others for them to learn and grow in that aspect.
  • Forgiving and letting go of the pains. This is one thing some of us find difficult to do, I had to learn it and I am glad I did.
  • Giving surprise gifts. I love to give a jar of cookies, cake, or a delicious meal or something else that is not edible.
  • A charming smile is my dose of kindness.

Kindness is giving and forgiving genuinely. - Winanda

Kindness is Trapped.

Yeah, it is. This happens in our world and when people hesitate to express kindness, they are trapping it, preventing it from being expressed. At times, we intentionally trap kindness for our benefit.

I remember during COVID-19, it was necessary to use hand sanitiser and a nose mask for protection. Some stores hoarded the sanitiser to be sold the next day to increase the price to almost double the normal price, they seized the opportunity to make more money from it by cheating people.

I understand we may choose to trap some acts of kindness because we don't want to be misunderstood or taken advantage of. When our intentions of kindness are being misunderstood, it won't be accepted and appreciated and so, to avoid the embarrassment, we hold back our kindness.

Some people are reluctant to offer a helping hand if they will not be rewarded. Others hold back their acts of kindness because of religion and race. If we continue this way, we will lose the benefits and blessings of kindness.

The World Needs More Kindness.

Often in my country, we complain about the government being wicked and inconsiderate in governing the states and the people but we forget that it is who they are that is displayed. If they had kindness deep-rooted in them they would act accordingly to ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens, I guess "they were not caught young"... "catch them young", you remember that?

It all begins with us, we don't have to wait for our leaders in our different countries, workplaces, and communities to do the needful, our little acts of kindness can go a long way in making life better and making living enjoyable. We need to be the change we seek in others. Kindness spreads, you know that right? So, if I show kindness to the person next to me, he or she will be influenced by my act of kindness, it works, it has worked and it is still working.

We need to instil the attitude of kindness and its importance in our little ones so they can practise it as they grow. The young ones will take after us when we are gone, we need to raise little ones who are compassionate and value kindness so that they can practise it wherever they are.

One thing about kindness is how it makes a positive impact not only on the individual but also on the community at large. Kindness is important because it builds and improves relationships and makes living better. It makes us happier and boosts our overall well-being both the giver and receiver. Through kindness, we promote love, connect with people, build trust, ease stress, build communities and promote peace in our world.

Conclusion

Now that you have read my blog up to this stage, let's forget about the state, country, colour, continent, religion, tradition, and culture and practise those little acts of kindness which will go a long way in creating a positive and supportive atmosphere for a better world.

To wrap up, here are 20 things that occur when kindness is expressed:
1. Creates 2. Ripple 3. Effect 4. Which 5. Leaves 6. A 7. Positive 8. Impact 9. On 10. Those 11. Around 12. And 13. Inspires 14. Them 15. To 16. Practise 17. Some 18. Gestures 19. Of 20. Kindness.

Now put that together, and you have the right sentence. 😉

Kindness has neither break time nor vacation, let's practice kindness daily and make a great change in our world.- Winanda.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my blog. I would love to hear from you in the comments.

Your take on kindness is thorough, vast, and inspiring. The world definitely needs a little more acts of kindness.

I have been stranded a lot of time myself sometimes in the past where a stranger helps me out of the blue.

The strangers in your writing were so kind and I pray that God's blessings should always be unto them.
#dreemerforlife

Yes, our world definitely needs more acts of kindness. God's blessings will always be with those who help us.

Thanks dear for coming around.

Amen Sis🥰🙏 you are welcome

A broad and deep dissertation on kindness that can serve as an inspiration to many people. I was curious about bathing and feeding snails, I didn't really understand the reason for it. Maybe it is because in my country currently, the ones we see in humid times are apparently dangerous. It was a lovely read.

Thanks so much, I'm glad you found my blog post inspiring and interesting.

As I mentioned in the blog, we also need to care for animals. I usually hunt for snails in my parent's garden, cook and eat them. This species is edible and not dangerous. Recently, I felt like training some of them before cooking them. So, I bathe them to wash off the slimy stuff and dirt on their shell, give them water and feed them with cabbage. Watching them play under running water and caring for them feels cool.

Thanks so much, for visiting my blog and apologies for the late response.

What a beautiful write up this is, kindness makes the world round.
