After more than a week with no mushrooms, I found a group of them while walking through the pine forest two days ago.
It was a very unexpected find because the weather got properly cold for the winter and this time of the year isn't mushroom-friendly in this area. But you can always get a surprise or two with fungi. Although, when I found a bit of information about them on the internet, this encounter wasn't a surprise anymore.
These are the Tricholoma fracticum. They are Inedible, bitter, and can appear from late autumn and throughout the winter ...
... always in conifer woods.
The light under the pines was pretty low, it required longer exposure photography, so at first, I took the time to take a shot that shows the mushroom in natural light. But when seen in ambient light, they are very well camouflaged among the needles on the forest floor ...
... so the much easier way to take photographs in low light, with using the flash, ended up being a much better solution in these conditions.
The caps of the mushrooms were all slightly different, each one was deformed in its own way.
It was only a brief encounter with a bunch of mushrooms of the same species, so there isn't much else to show or say.

I have seen some near Mareda the other day, too.
wow, I didnt notice a single snowflake in these shots! in my area there is 40cm of snow, any shrooms would be hard to find under this blanket -- I suspect there are none out there.
those bitter inedibles look cool, I love to shoot old britlegills who have same destructed and twisted caps, they look very fashionable.
🙂 True, a perfect cap is maybe perfect, but those twisted ones have personality.

Mushrooms look wilted, if you find them a few days before that, maybe the mushrooms are still very fresh

I missed your mushroom post, because I read in your post a few days ago you will post this mushroom on Friday, mushrooms of that size are very rare in our area tropical climate.

Yes, they are pretty big and meaty, but unfortunately not edible.
