Fungi Friday - Virtual Magic Mushrooms

Here is a mushroom composition for this #fungifriday by @ewkaw

Sadly it has been too dry and windy here for any of my favorite mushrooms to grow. So I had to look into the archives to make a composition of mushrooms I would like to see start growing.

Here are some of the fractal elements and the drawing that made up the composition. The drawing was made by my fiance, she loves doodling mythical creatures in her sketchbook. The other image is a snowy tree I took one winter and the fractals were generated in jwildfire.

Here is the photo I used to cut out the morels from the composition. These were found exactly one year ago, sadly this year may be without morels since it didn't rain enough around here.

Here is an old Amanita muscaria I found in the fall, one of the few red ones I've ever found around here, just a little baby.

Here is an old bolete I found when it rained heavily in late summer. I have not idea on which bolete this was but it had yellow pores and stained blue almost instantly.

The last mushroom is Scutellinia scutellata aka eyelash cup fungi. These are pretty common around here after a heavy summer rain.

I took a look at the weather forecast and there is no rain for many days so I might have to resort to virtual mushroom posts for a while. Happy #fungifriday

Very good neighborhood of mushrooms and magic @ sketch.and.jam✨
And I would love to find a little red with white dots. As a child, I thought that only such mushrooms existed and that's how I drew them 🤭

The red amanitas are very rare around here though the yellow ones can be found easily here. psx_20181009_112910.jpg

Thank you very much @sketch.and.jam 🤗
I'll try to find her😊

Hm, the eyelash cup fungi is cool. You say pretty much common after a heavy summer rain? I have never seen any....Oh, yes, we don't live in same continent :DD

However, I will give it a try, although a summer rain here is never heavy, I will try to search for them 👀

Happy #fungifirday !!

They are common but very tiny, just keep an eye out for red on any really old rotting wood laying around the forest in the shade.

🤓

Thanks for the hint. If I find any, you will know :)

When it rains a good time to hunt mushrooms, hai brother, Thank you for sharing.

This year we missed our April showers and got nothing but wind instead.

Here has little rainfall. usually the end of the year experiencing heavy rain. I hope you are fine.

Are the first two morels black morels? I've never found any like that over here.

Those are half free morels, they are way more common around here than the blonde morels. The problem is they are easy to overlook when you are out looking for true morels. They are edible but when you cook them they kind of fall apart and get soggy so most people don't even bother harvesting them.

I didn't know that! Thanks for the advice! If I ever see any of those, I'll leave them be.

The thing is they are technically a morel and taste like one, so I usually end up picking the bigger ones. They work well in pastas and sauces but if you like to batter and deep fry morels they don't work too well.

Thanks for the tips! I'd like to try some in pasta!

This is a great composition. I like how you collaborated and compiled this collage of subject matter. Can't go wrong with mushrooms and art together! Keep up the great work. =) And have an awesome weekend!

Thanks, I guess there is a benefit to having dry weather and no prospect of spring mushroom hunting. Gives me a bit more time on the computer.

Similar predicament here in my part of Texas! Although it's wet here at the moment i don't see any mushroom prospects. I guess i will just have to artistically create my own! =)

Ooo it's raining in Texas? Given the heat I would keep an eye out for summer oysters and chanterelles if there is enough rain. Just find a few hardwood trees to look under.

Your back with some Alien mushrooms again honestly what planet do you go to get these 🤣

These are just hidden away in the plains of the midwest. While others watch football I'm in the scrub and brush hunting for mushrooms lol.

If they are eatable it is worth your time I suppose then you can sit down and watch that game with a yummy meal by your side 🤣

I would ruin it for the others by making fun of their sportsball heroes.

Haha, I know what you mean simply minds get offended easily you can't be doing that picking mushrooms will be safer for you 🤣
