in Fungi Lovers3 years ago

It was raining for last couple of days, thanks to Cyclone Yaas Todsy it was clear sky, and as I look around my lawn, I found a bunch of Mushroom grown over a corner. What used to a greener lawn, has now some unknown friends in these fungi. It was really amazing, to see how these fungi comes up overnight.

Looking over the internet, I learned that these mushroom need "the right mix of moisture, shade or cloudy weather and rich, organic soil." We have definitely had enough rain/moisture for last couple of days and soil in our area were rich for farming. So that make an adequate condition for these Mushroom to grow. I quickly take my phone to take some snaps as these mushroom may disappear sooner.

Fungi expert says that,"It is not wise to eat them if you don't know what species they are. They are response to the rainy weather and might prove to be poisonous.

Wild mushrooms can make a tasty dish, but the toxins in some mushrooms can trigger fatal health issues. Some wild mushrooms also contain high levels of heavy metals and other harmful chemicals. To avoid these dangers, only consume mushrooms from a reliable source.

These umbrella shaped Mushroom are nature's gift that looks very indigenous. They are soft and touchy. These may be brown in colour or white. For sure with sun started to shine, these will disappear naturally.

Looks like these are not eatable, but the small mushrooms that we get in rainy season in open fields are the best ( we call it sand mushroom). They are very small and come in bunches but a very little fried with potato can make a lot of difference - The smell , taste - long time since ate them.
