Cool man, great to see you striving for better fitness and thus better health. It's an expression as old as the hills, but you're health is your wealth. It's so true and easy to lose sight of.
I want to be around for my kids for as long as possible, so even though I enjoy a few beers, eat out quite a bit, I offset it with healthy eating and exercise.
The exercise piece is all about habit forming and accountability. It might take around 2 weeks to form that habit of say a 20 to 50 minute workout every day Mon to Thursday but soon it's engrained and then it is easier to maintain, that is my experience anyway.
The accountability piece will work great with Hive. Maybe pick 1 or 2 days when you post on your successes and in that post you can say what your commitments are for the next few days... say...
- 2 x 1 hour walks
- 2 x 20 reps dumbbells daily
- 30 situps daily
- 20 pressups daily
The next post can then say if you succeeded and if not why not..
On the healthy eating, well done on ditching the sodas. That is brilliant. Try drink loads of water instead and have a soda maybe once a week as a treat if eating out or whatever.
Interested to see what @theycallmedan has to say on this topic.
Best of luck with it bro.
