Well, you took a huge and brave step... not just the first one, but announcing it out into the community! So big bonus points for that!
What you drink can actually make a huge difference. I have a heart condition and my doctor told me to lose weight "or else" and the biggest change I made was going to drinking about 90% water, instead of sweet drinks, juices, milk, beer, etc. I dropped about 15kg over 6 months without really doing a lot else different, other than minding my processed food intake.
