Hello! As part of our ongoing efforts to improve both interaction and curation in the Movies and TV Shows Community, this post is one of many to highlight and boost members of the past week that have posted what we believe is exceptional content.

The Details

Each week, our Moderators will monitor the posts within the Movies and TV Shows Community and handpick the ones that are believed to stand out under numerous factors: post quality, length, and subject.

There are no entry requirements, and this is not a contest, but simply a roundup intended to provide additional exposure to all of you for your efforts. Just have fun posting in the Movies & TV Shows Community and five or more posts will be chosen frequently.

One Sings, the Other Doesn't (1977): a hymn to feminism and sisterhood | un canto al feminismo y la sororidad

At the beginning, when we meet the protagonists, we cannot imagine two more different women. Pauline is younger, but she has a firmer character; Suzanne, despite being a mother, is much more fragile; one doesn't want to get married, the other has children from a man she loves, but who is still married to another woman; one seems a victim of society and the other has the strength to want to change that. However, as time passes, both will converge in a relationship of sisterhood, mutual support, love and defense of the rights of women to decide about their destinies, their jobs, their bodies and their desires. Although the film lasts just two hours, Varda manages to show the important changes that occurred in the sixties in France and much of the world, using different events such as the Prague Spring, or the case of a woman who was prosecuted in France for having an abortion after being raped and was acquitted by law. Against the backdrop of an increasingly modern and open society, Suzanne and Pauline's friendship is also strengthened by the joint struggle that, each in her own way, carry out to help other women in need. In different ways, One Sings, the Other Doesn't is a hymn to friendship and the different facets of femininity shown in the film: motherhood, pregnancy, self-realization, breastfeeding, consciousness and defense of one's own body... in short, about the joy and challenge that being a woman represents (which has always represented).

Betty la Fea _ Una nueva forma de ver lo que fue

Regarding the new characters, there is still much to be revealed, in my opinion much remains to be seen because they focus more on the characters already known, implying the importance of these, but from chapter to chapter, in addition to the mysteriousness of that character who has something to reveal in the future.

Civil War - Film Review

The plot focuses on a group of war journalists, people who have seen many things with their eyes, but who unfortunately now see it in the flesh from their nation. The truth is that both the context in which the plot unfolds and the focus on the journalistic experience are a success for the production. At first I thought it might not be the right approach because of the potential of the context of a civil war in America; however, it ends up working, although we may see this same context developed with a very different plot in the future.

2001: A Space Odyssey the answer is ancient

In the video you can hear a more extended opinion of what I just wrote plus me trying to sing that soundtrack of power that has left me excited and happy to have finally seen this film that I recommend for everyone at home, especially if you can see it with your children so that their minds reflect on ideas that are in the memory of our DNA.

The Boleyn Sisters | Passion and Betrayal for the Love of a King - Pasión y traición por el amor de un Rey

No resources were spared in the production of this film, it has a cast of excellent quality and a well told story, many times I lost my breath because of the events and did not believe that at some point it was real, I enjoyed the whole production and I invite you to watch it and enjoy it.

The Watchers: Dakota está de Vuelta, pero...

Besides the fact that it was filmed in Ireland and its captured shots were beautiful and majestic, the plot of the movie didn't please me one bit when it took a completely unexpected turn as director M. Night Shyamalan usually does. And it was his daughter who was in charge this time.

Historia real: El caso Asunta| Review

As I said this is a Spanish miniseries, it consists of a season with 8 episodes, and guess what, it is based on real events, yes, as you read it, this really happened., something that gave a lot to talk about, surrounded by mystery, and distrust about how the events happened.

Killer Womans chapter 21 (Carmen,daugther ) - Review

Well, another disappointment is that I found absolutely nothing about this case which tells me that it is fiction and is inspired by those silent voices of people with different abilities who are manipulated to commit atrocious acts. I'm not defending Carmen, but if you throw a lit cigarette into a forest, you can't expect it not to catch fire at any moment and claim any victim that crosses the path of the fire, especially if the flames that appear to be peacefully dozing are actually being fueled until you utter the exact word that sets everything off.

MOVIE REVIEW: “Night Swim” (2024)

The great mystery surrounding the pool is something extremely predictable (although one idea or another was very interesting due to a more historical and traditional context involving culture and mysticism), and not even the more “frenetic” pace of the final 30 minutes of the project manage to raise the quality of this terrible material. Despite trying hard with some great aquatic takes (mainly underwater... where some scenes are very interesting - visually speaking - due to the angles chosen), the movie goes in circles and ends up having a bad ending.
