Sleepless is the remake of the 2011 French thriller Nuit Blanche, Jamie Foxx stars as a Las Vegas cop implicated in a mafia-type drugs situation with just a few hours to settle things and save his kidnapped teenage son.
Vincent Downs (Foxx) and partner, Sean, stole 25 kilos of cocaine, wanted by a casino owner, Rubino, in turn wanted by a drug dealer, Novak.
In other to retrieve the drugs, Rubino kidnapped Downs' son to blackmail him.
However, Downs was an undercover cop trying to get evidence to turn in drug lords and other corrupt cops into bars, but when Vincent’s colleague, internal affairs officer Bryant, begins to meddle, thinking he was involved in drugs, Vincent finds himself further compromised.
Sleepless gives the thrill vibe and has a potential to be a nail-biting action movie. It might be a little predictable but it's not your regular good cop bad cop movie, especially the final twist which was truly unexpected.
For those who likes no nonsense, action packed films, I'm genuinely recommending Sleepless.
