10K Hive Power!!!
So I finally reached 10K hive power. It's a target that I've had as long as I can remember here on Hive. I remember in the early days looking at other users who had 10,000 hive power and above and thought; Wow, imagine if I had that much power, how much easier things would be and how much quicker I could grow.

Well now after a lot of hard work, posting every day ,engaging with the community and starting off my own mini community which is Three Tune Tuesday I finally reached the milestone of 10,000 Hive Power and I'm absolutely delighted about it.
Ok let's get a shameless plug in here now. What is Three Tunes Tuesday you might ask? Well every Tuesday music lovers from around the world get together under the following hashtag #ttt to share three tunes that they really like, three tunes that they have a little story about, three tunes that they've recently listened to, three tunes that they listened to a long time ago or my favorite of all three tunes that they've written themselves and share under the tag. I listen to them all, comment and upload them all and by the end of the week we give out a prize in the form of nine shares of HBI. I absolutely love it. What started out as just me sharing three songs into the high heater a couple years ago has grown slowly at first with a few people join in me and our up to having around 25 to 35 unique entries every week. I get to hear really cool tunes from a cool bunch of people every week the only tricky part is trying to pick a winner from all the worthy participants. If you're reading this and you've never had a go then why not join us this week on Tuesday with your three tunes. I guarantee that you'll meet some really cool people and enjoy the tunes that are shared by the others. It's an excellent way to engage and get to know others too.
Ok, now let's get back to the theme of this post, which is figuring out the average air speed velocity of an African migratory bird carrying a coconut to outer Mongolia, oh and me getting to 10K HP..
Meagre Beginnings
There are a lot of us out there in the Hive world that started off with 5 Hive and basically grew organically from there. In a lot of ways it is the hardest way to grow and really buying 1000 hive right at the beginning is a much better idea, as that first 1000 is by far and away the hardest to accumulate and it actually took me years, but back then my posting quality was not as good as today and I posted sporadically. If you are just starting off and have <1000 HP, honestly just make the initial investment to get over 1000HP and a few years down the line, you can take back out that seed money if you wish. Were I to start again, this is most certainly the approach that I would take and get that growth going nice and quickly.
I formed a habit a while back, where I post every single day and that has paid off for me and paved the way from my continued growth here on Hive and I couldn't be happier. It is always good to observe some Power users here on Hive and learn from them. It's akin to learning from a senior engineer or a young up and coming soccer start learning from guys that have been at the top for years.
Two users that I would like to call out, who have been a great influence on me are @tarazkp and @galenkp. I regularly read their posts and I noticed a few things - they posted every day, they only posted quality, they engaged with every comment and they stuck to what they knew and were not afraid to have an opinion. If you don't know the lads, although that is doubtful add them and check out their content, always a good read.
It honestly doesn't feel like that long ago since I had under 1,000 Hive Power and having grown my account from scratch that first 1,000 was without a doubt the most difficult to accumulate. What has happened since then has been unbelievable. As I said, I committed to posting every day of the week and I fairly quickly hit and passed other milestones, each one coming a little quicker than the last. 2,000 did take a while alright, but nothing in comparison to the first 1,000. Then, in early 2022 I passed 3,000, March to be exact. I wrote a post about that actually and 81 days later I hit another milestone, as I accelerated past 4,000 Hive Power, I think that was some time in May 2022, and 5,000 came around mid June 2022 I think, followed by 6,000 Hive Power on August 1st 2022. Somewhere along the way I lost the support of a brilliant and very kind whale, which slowed the progress a little, but I dusted myself down and on September 28th 2022 I passed through the 7,000 barrier. Another 53 days passed and on November 20th 2022 I hit another milestone of 8,000 HP. January 24th 2023 saw me smash past 9,000 Hive Power and today November 16th 2023, I have hit a target that I have been zeroing in on for a long time now, as I finally hit five figures of Hive Power. It has taken me just over five years and something the really peaks my interest is when I can double again and get to 20,000 Hive Power. Maybe late 2024 or earky 2025? Who knows.

I'd have reached this milestone earlier, however with the Hive price edging higher I've been putting a little bit of my HBD rewards into savings which return an impressive 20% APR.
20% APR and low risk
As I said above, I have some HBD cooking away making me a yield of 20% APR and I believe everyone should squirrel a little bit away as 20% is considerable and it's also handy to be able to liquidate in 3 days if the need arises.
Spreading The Word
I'm a talker, you may have noticed! Every day blabbing on about this and that! So, it should not come as a surprise to learn that I've always been one to tell family and friends about Hive and Crypto in general and for a long time this was met with raised eyebrows and blank expressions, but lately people want to know more and the barriers to getting in are constantly lowering. The 20% APR mentioned above is a perfect example of how to attract people, not 124,678% APR for some Johnny Come lately Shitcoin or Token that is highly speculative.

Most investments are in some way speculative and pretty much all Crypto is speculative, but it is a matter of being cute and considered with just how speculative you want to be.
I hold other coins in Crypto and I often consider liquidating the lot and pumping it into Hive. I could more than double my Hive holdings overnight or invest in HBD and watch my investment grow by 20% each year.
Thanks to the Community

It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. Thanks a million to all of my friends on Hive for your kind support over the years. It's very much appreciated, and I look forward to growing with you all for 2023 and beyond.
This eco system of ours is built upon sharing, kindness and engagement and it is heartening to see so much genuine engagement and interaction across the various communities and groups.

In my opinion there is no other place online where people are so helpful and altruistic. Let's keep it that way and look out for each other and support each other.
Targets?
So let's wrap up this post with a little bit of engagement, well hopefully anyways, it would be nice to see a few if we engage with this topic in the comments below.
What are your targets for the year? what are your stretch targets? I've just posted about mine by hitting the 10K hive power. My next target is 15k high power not sure when I get there but it's just good to have a target.
Tell me a little bit about your targets below. Are you looking to take that first thousand HP or are you looking to get even higher maybe 50k 100k?
Thanks as always for stopping by everyone.
Peace Out
Oh my! First of Congrats!! :D That is pretty awesome! With each 1K it will go easier and faster.
I remember starting of too an dreaming of reaching 1K.. and then 10K.. Each achieved milestone felt damn good, so I know how you feel and how much effort it takes. You should be damn proud!
My last milestone was reaching 70K by the end of 2022 and I did it. Now I am waiting to see 100K. Would be very cool to get there by the end of this year. A bit of a dream maybe as I don't think it is doable... but would be so cool though! We will see :)
Congrats again! :)

So cool to hear your growth story and over the next number of years, I hope to follow in your footsteps. You and others like me have been central to me growing here and I truly appreciate that, and wow, with a Tipu curation, you're as good. 100K by the end of 2023? Why not? Always good to have a stretch target, so that you can push yourself that little bit more and your curation rewards are substantial too, so that will really help as well.
Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 5/55) Liquid rewards.
It's a huge achievement and one you should be proud of as you have done it somewhat organically, by doing the right things with consistency and being a valid member of the community. I can't open my feed without seeing your bloody TTT and that is a good thing for you, profile, so well done on that, and keep it up. I'll have to get involved one of these days.
You know that I do the #weekend-engagement topics each Friday right? You know what I find to be
fuckenbonkers? Well, people come along and enter over the weekend, get a small vote from me and maybe a curangel promotion also from me and then...they bugger off and I don't hear from them again, until the following week. It's ok, I don't mind.But...don't you think it might be advantageous to engage with me a little, on my posts, with valid and relevant commenting? Not just because I vote comments left for me, but to build a relationship. Maybe that once a week vote for the weekend-engagement might turn into once a day, and become larger?
You mention that you lost the vote of a whale. Yep, that happens. That's why I suggest users should create and nurture good relationships with users so that they have a wide audience and a good platform of followers/voters. Whales rarely read what they vote I think and a relationships with one is probably as rare as rocking horse shit.
It's a big ocean, and fishing for whales is fine, but if one catches a whale and loses it that's a big loss. Fishing for sardines is easier and if a few slip away it's no big deal, there's many more.
Anyway, I'm preaching to the converted here I guess.
I'm looking for 200,000. I actually have a powerdown happening right now to gather some liquid that I plan to trade with a little on an exchange. I look for 10% gains (difficult right now) and the plan is to bring it all back and hit that 200,000 mark. I have around 183,000 now (prior to the powerdown), so it'll take some time, but I think I could hit 200,000 by Christmas. We'll see.
Thanks for the mention and keep up the good work personally and with the TTT concept.
Thanks for the mention, I'm rather humbled, but very appreciative of your kind words.
Top stuff man, great advise there and quality comment. That's really encouraging to hear your thoughts on #ttt too man, and I'm getting 25 to 35 now every week, which is amazing. If you ever get to the time to throw something in the mix, that'd be cool, I'll keep an eye out for it. The initiative is super time consuming weekly, but I love music and it's great to interact with all of the entries and then I get to know some of them well and can end up following them, upvoting them etc. As you say taking the time to form relationship is the bricks and mortar of any successful account.
Ya man, I've taken part a few times in the past, but it's been a long while. Hopefully I'll change that some weekend soon. Time is the enemy. Busy job. Three kids. Two dogs. Sports lover. You get the drill... But I'll try have a go soon, as the prompts are always really interesting. It must take you a good while to catch up on as many entries as you can?
200K target 🎯 That's exciting stuff man and no reason you can't get there, the dedication and engagement that you bring to the table. Best of luck with it and thanks again for the super engaging comment.
I'll get involved with the #TTT soon, I've been meaning to but have always got something else going on I guess and realise too late. My Tuesday happens before anyone else's (Australia) so when I see the entries and think, I should enter, it's often after I've already posted that day, or it's Wednesday. I'll make it happen though.
Keel up the good work, I look forward to seeing your 50,000HP post. 😊
Thanks a million man, and no panic on #ttt, if you get a chance some day, cool, but no worries either way. Take it easy.
I did a #TTT entry a couple hours ago which I hope I got right. Let me know.
Cool man, I'll check this out before next Tuesday, good on ya 👍
Edit: Oh and ya you have posted it correctly, I usually do the listening on the weekend or Early following week, but I always get to it!
All good mate, glad I got it right. I can be a bit dense at times. 😋
200K? Wowsers!!!!! That's amazing mate, well done, and well deserved.
Still a little way off, just hit 183,000.
yeah but, man, that's still awesome. I'm just no good with figures. I should figure out how to multiply it but it's a little like sorting washing - I'll still always put reds in with whites. Some things you can't teach.
Lol, yeah I've done the reds and whites thing...I didn't do it on purpose to mess everything up so that I'd not get asked to do the laundry ever again. Honest. 😇😂
Congrats on the milestone, the advice to buy the first 1k is golden, it can speed up the growth in no time. Thanks for the great ttt community, it is a favourite weekly posts for me to share and listen to music.
Good luck to the next milestone, the snowball is rolling.
Thanks a million man, chuffed to bits to get finally get it to 5 figures 💪
Congratulatios and well deserved. You work hard on this platform and contribute so much, so it's really well deserved. Now you'll start flying along!
Ahh, such kind words, thanks a million 🙏
Congrats and well deserved. I hope to reach 15k by the end of the year but I have also set myself to goal of everyday adding 1HBD to savings. There is always so much going on in my real world life that I can't be consistent with posting so have to buy when I can and curate to build my stake. I have lots of content to come but my mind is not in the right place to submit it to chain.
There is also so much going on with Leo and I try to build stake there too.
Great that the Irish contingent is getting stronger. And thar we all seem to get the true spirit of Hive.
Thank you.
15K is a good target and you'll reach and surpass that I reckon.
Ya, great to see all the Irish heads growing and prospering.
Ya that is the challenge. I'm very habit based and luckily I have an engrained habit of daily posting for now. I'll keep that going for as long as I can and see where it takes me, but buying and curation is cool too, so long as you're growing.
Congrats!
Thanks
Congratulations on your 10K milestone. Reading your story is really inspiring. I'm fairly new here so I haven't got clear goals to aim for yet, still understanding the inner workings of this unique ecosystem.
Best wishes on reaching your next target :)
Thanks @takhar and welcome to Hive. All the very best with your journey
Thanks for the welcome and kind wish. I appreciate it :)
Catching up on what I have missed during the past few days that I was away and look what I found! @ablaze hit 10k HP! That´s a big one man! Congrats! At your current speed, you will be celebrating 20k next year ;)
