As long as we have plenty of oil, I don't see the point of EVs, other than being fancy. An EV with close to decent battery life is well above $50,000. You can buy way better ICE cars imo for that cash. I can drive for 1,200 km with one tank, I would probably need to charge a Tesla three times to do that. I get your take in catching up with the head starters. That's going to be a hard task for general motors. Even Daimler and Volkswagen are going to have a hard time with catching up with Tesla.
