5. Egmont National Park: Majestic Mount Taranaki
In Egmont National Park, near New Plymouth, lies Mount Taranaki, a stunning volcanic peak. We opted to hike the Pouakai Circuit and enjoyed peaceful walks through lush forests, culminating at a reflective tarn that promised stunning views of the mountain. Despite the challenging trek, the journey was incredibly rewarding.
6. Wellington to Picton: A Scenic Ferry Journey
Crossing the Cook Strait on a three-hour ferry ride from Wellington to Picton revealed the mesmerizing scenery of the Marlborough Sounds. The picturesque bays and serene surroundings perfectly set the stage for our adventures on the South Island.
