The resolution comes with a mixture of relief and trauma; Rachel and Kyle survive, but the emotional scars remain. As they drive towards the hospital to help Fred, who is revealed to still be alive, the audience is left contemplating the vulnerability that exists in everyday life and the unforeseen encounters that can spiral into violence.
