Part 2/9:
The film opens with a stark scene that sets a dark tone—a distressed young woman dragged through an abandoned neighborhood by a mysterious older man. Meanwhile, we follow three young adults—Alex, Rocky, and Money—as they embark on a break-in at a seemingly luxurious home. Their plan is simple: steal items worth less than $10,000. However, despite their caution, the heist quickly spirals out of control.
As they relax after their initial heist, the characters reveal their ambitions to escape Detroit for California. Rocky's motivations are rooted in a desire to rescue her younger sister from their dysfunctional home life, adding emotional stakes to the impending crime.
