The Rituals Begin
The film’s most horrifying scenes arise from the villagers' customs around death and sacrifice. Dani witnesses the first festival ritual involving elder couples leaping to their deaths, a gruesome spectacle that is rationalized by the community’s need to embrace the inevitability of death.
