The film opens with a harrowing introduction to Annabelle, a doll possessed by a demonic spirit that deceives two young women into believing it is inhabited by the spirit of a deceased child. During an interview conducted by the Warrens, the women recount their terrifying experiences with the doll—first as a mere nuisance, then escalating into sinister occurrences that culminate in the doll’s return to their home after being discarded.
