Adele's decision to cut alcohol from her life is not a new topic. Following her painful divorce from Simon Konecki in 2021, as well as the passing of her father, Mark Evans, from bowel cancer that same year, she began to reassess her relationship with alcohol. During a previous interview with Oprah Winfrey for the One Night Only special, she articulated that sobriety offered her a newfound clarity and self-awareness, saying, "that's one great way of really sort of getting to know yourself is just drinking water and being sober as anything."
