Jerry Reinsdorf, the 88-year-old majority owner of the White Sox, has long been a fixture in baseball since purchasing the team in 1981 for just $20 million. His tenure has witnessed significant changes in the sport, but throughout it all, he has been a staunch advocate for retaining ownership. Known as the oldest majority owner in baseball, Reinsdorf had previously indicated his intention for his heirs to sell the White Sox upon his passing while retaining ownership of the Chicago Bulls, the NBA team where his son, Michael, serves as COO and team president.
