The term "s," defined as the realization that every stranger has a rich inner life, highlights our tendency to see ourselves as the main character in our own narratives while considering others as mere supporting roles. Recognizing the complexity of others’ lives—a realization many encounter during formative years—is an enlightening, albeit humbling experience.
