Currently, the ability of Parliament to make and unmake laws puts legislators in a unique position of power that allows them to rescind new regulations promptly. This raises the pivotal question of whether a constitutional change is necessary to impose real accountability. If Parliament were to enact rules mandating that MPs provide specific answers and face consequences for failing to do so, they could easily be repealed by subsequent administrations, rendering them ineffective.
