Part 4/10:
Throughout his incarceration, Harris developed an extraordinary internal strength. He suffered from aphasia—damage to his brain caused by trauma—that distorted his speech and hindered communication. Yet, he took it upon himself to learn how to speak clearly, practicing diligently every day. Harris taught himself new words and improved his articulation, helping other inmates along the way.
His self-education extended into reading vast amounts of literature about religious philosophies, neuroplasticity, and healing. Harris realized that his mind could be retrained and healed through neuroplasticity, a concept he learned from Robin Sharma. With patience and kindness, Harris rewired his brain, healing from trauma and transforming into a calm, confident speaker.
