Over the past decade, humanity's ability to observe space has dramatically improved, primarily due to the development of new survey telescopes and enhanced computational power. These telescopes include major observatories such as Pan-STARRS in Hawaii and the recently inaugurated Rubin Observatory in Chile. Funded by agencies like NASA, the NSF, the Department of Energy, and others, these observatories are specifically designed to find near-Earth objects (NEOs) that could pose a threat to our planet, especially those larger than a football field.
