California’s homelessness crisis has long been one of the state’s most visible and pressing issues. Despite billions of dollars spent on programs, services, and initiatives, the problem persists and appears to worsen. Recently, the federal government has stepped in to examine the integrity of these expenditures, citing concerns over potential fraud, abuse, and corruption.
