Electricity prices from renewable sources, once thought to be ultra-cheap, are now evidently rising sharply. The cost of infrastructure projects, exemplified by the recent more-than-doubled price of the VNI West transmission line in just two months, underscores the soaring expenses involved. These trends render the premise of cheap electricity—fundamental to achieving net zero—obsolete.
