Jimmy Hoffa was more than just a labor leader; he was a force of nature in the American labor movement. Born in Indiana in 1913, Hoffa dropped out of high school to work at a Kroger warehouse in Detroit, where he organized his first labor strike before turning 20. His efforts led to the presidency of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters in 1957, transforming the union into the largest in America and making Hoffa one of its most powerful figures.
