Stalled Israeli-Hamas Negotiations and The Prospect of a Ceasefire
Diplomatic efforts towards a ceasefire continue to face hurdles. Early indications suggested Israel was somewhat open to a framework involving a six-day ceasefire and the release of hostages, including vulnerable individuals such as the sick, wounded, elderly, and women. In exchange, Israel would release approximately 400 Palestinian prisoners, including those convicted of severe crimes.
