Cutting-Edge Launch and Recovery Systems
The Kennedy features revolutionary systems designed to enhance aircraft operations. It will include electromagnetic aircraft launch systems (EMALS), a linear induction motor catapult system that replaces traditional steam-powered systems, enabling the launch of a wider variety of aircraft and reducing maintenance complexities.
Complementing this are the advanced arresting gear (AAG), a turbo-electric system using rotary water turbines to decelerate aircraft upon landing. This system improves control over aircraft weight ranges and reduces the stress on the ship’s structure.
