Over the next thirty years, Turner invested more than two billion dollars to acquire and restore a network of struggling ranches spread across the West, from Nebraska's shortgrass prairies to New Mexico’s Vermejo Ranch, a vast 558,000-acre wilderness. These lands, larger than many national parks, became a living canvas for ecological revival.
