Part 5/11:
Across the river, the University City neighborhood is evolving into Philadelphia’s academic and medical powerhouse. The Skookul Yards development—a $3.5 billion collaboration between Brandywine Realty Trust and Drexel University—cements the area’s reputation as a high-density innovation corridor.
The centerpiece, the newly opened 3,151 Market Tower, is a striking addition to the skyline. This $317 million structure integrates laboratory and office spaces with retail, public plazas, and redesigned green areas. Opened in March 2025, it joins other developments like 3025 JFK and the rejuvenated Bulletin Building, forming a dynamic district that aims to retain and attract STEM graduates, startups, and established biotech and tech companies.
