Vertical farms are also pioneering advancements in water usage. They utilize sophisticated recirculation systems where water is supplied directly to plant roots, absorbed, and then transpired into the air. This water vapor is captured through air handling units, condensed, and reused within the system. As a result, these farms can save about one million gallons of water per week, using only about 1% of the land traditionally required for comparable production.
