Buildings are among the world's largest sources of carbon emissions. If considered as a country, building operations would rank alongside China as the top emitter globally. This is primarily due to energy-intensive activities like operating elevators, pumps, HVAC systems, and air movement—all of which are linked to substantial greenhouse gases.
Transportation contributes another 23% of global emissions. When combined with building-related emissions, these sectors account for nearly half of all greenhouse gases produced worldwide. The interconnectedness of these industries underscores the importance of tackling both simultaneously to make meaningful progress.
