The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the need for adaptation. Election offices swiftly transitioned to online training, ramped up mail-in voting, and reconfigured voting locations to facilitate social distancing. For instance, Beth’s team moved voting operations to a sports coliseum to allow safe, in-person voting during the pandemic’s peak.
