The first casualty of war is truth, and this adage holds especially true in the ongoing conflict against drugs. Since the inception of the war on drugs nearly five decades ago, misinformation, myths, and censorship have clouded public understanding of drug use and safety. The consequence of this misinformation is not just misunderstanding but real harm—preventable deaths and injuries resulting from a lack of accessible and accurate safety information.
