Part 4/8:
Many graduates shared their compelling journeys, illuminating the profound impact of higher education behind bars. One alumnus recalled, "When I went to prison at 16 years old, I wasn’t expecting any future at all, let alone a good or bad one. But the fact is, the stuff I did in prison is the most powerful thing on my resume." Such reflections underscore how involvement in the program shifted perceptions and opened new pathways.
Another graduate, Sean, achieved a bachelor's degree in behavioral science, motivated initially to understand himself better. "I chose the street life, and I couldn’t understand why I did a lot of things I did. I believe if I can change, anybody can change," he shared, symbolizing hope for others facing similar challenges.
