Part 3/10:
BAM operates within school settings, leveraging the classroom as a vital touchpoint for intervention. The program entails full-time male mentors who meet weekly with students during school hours, offering male-to-male counseling and mentorship. This approach allows adults with backgrounds in social work, psychology, and counseling to connect with youth authentically, understanding their lived realities.
"Working in schools is critical," explains Michael, a BAM counselor. "We get real-time access to youth, and our goal is to create a space where they can be themselves, be vulnerable, and be genuine."
