Turning to the upcoming mayoral election in New York City, Horovitz analyzed the race between the Democratic nominee, Zoran Mandami, and incumbent Mayor Eric Adams. He observed that Mandami’s support among Wall Street elites remains lukewarm, partly due to his performance in a recent high-profile meeting with industry leaders which he characterized as ineffective and evasive.
Horovitz predicts that despite Mandami’s current polling lead, he is unlikely to secure victory because of the influential backing that Cuomo remains able to rally—though Cuomo himself refuses to back down from his detested gubernatorial ambition. He believes that the establishment’s business and political elites will ultimately unite behind Cuomo, leaving Adams as the more pragmatic choice.
