The Druze community in Israel numbers around 150,000 and is fully integrated into Israeli society, including active participation in the Israeli Defense Forces. Unlike Jewish Israelis, Druze are a distinct religious group, yet they share strong social and military ties with the Israeli state.
In contrast, approximately 700,000 Druze live in Syria, primarily along border areas adjacent to Lebanon and Israel. These communities face threats from various factions within Syria, especially during periods of escalated conflict. Their strategic locations make them vulnerable to violence and potential massacres, as various armed groups vie for control.
