Part 10/13:
The concept of shared fantasy, introduced by researcher Sander in 1989, aligns with forms of mass psychogenic illness. Narcissists often act as narrative generators, constructing and maintaining a compelling fictitious world in which the victim plays a role akin to an actor or character. The narcissist’s narrative becomes the director of this reality, dictating the victim’s perceptions, beliefs, and behaviors.
This process resembles a theatrical production, with roles assigned and scripts followed, where the victim unconsciously fulfills the narcissist’s desired narrative. Often, half of all narcissists are women, but the dynamics are universal, transcending gender and societal norms.
