During a recent interview, Trump expressed skepticism about Powell's performance, criticizing his handling of the economy and the Fed's ongoing $2.5 billion renovation of the central bank's building. Trump remarked, "He’s doing a lousy job… We get, fortunately, to make a change in the next eight months or so, and we’ll pick somebody that’s good."
