Another critical angle concerns the geopolitical realities surrounding Palestinian refugees. Despite the severe conditions in Gaza, neighboring Arab countries—such as Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria—have historically been reluctant or outright refuse to accept mass Palestinian refugees. Jordan, for example, hosts a large Palestinian population, comprising over half of its citizens, and yet it has not shown a willingness to absorb new refugees en masse.
