The album’s cover art and tracklist drew me in immediately. I grasped at its concept—an existential narrative that subtly hinted at theme of the duality within every person: the public facade versus the shadow self. I lacked the vocabulary at the time (no Carl Jung or Albert Camus knowledge), but I sensed that The Stranger spoke to him on a profound level. Later, I would learn that this album resonated with him because it reflected a secret, personal struggle—a darkness he carried for years and took to his grave.
