He points out that most trans and gay individuals want to integrate peacefully into society and seek equal rights, contrasting this with fervent activist groups that are pushing for new, often controversial, identities and policies. This has, according to him, generated a "divorce" within the movement, leading to public confusion and misrepresentation.
