His rebellious teenage years in New York's nightlife scene contrasted sharply with his childhood faith and values. Eventually, the spiritual crisis and self-awareness prompted him to seek purpose. Inspired by the biblical parable of the prodigal son, he sold everything at 28 and dedicated himself to humanitarian work, initially in Liberia, and later focusing on water.
His firsthand experiences with water-related suffering led to founding Charity Water, with a clear mission: ensuring everyone has access to safe drinking water.
