In a recent shareholder meeting, Ubisoft's CEO, Giamet, attributed the disappointing sales of Star Wars Outlaws to the waning popularity of the Star Wars brand. During the meeting, he explained that the game did not meet sales expectations partly because the Star Wars brand was in “choppy waters”, and the game itself was released in a problematic state.

"We didn't reach our sales target... the game came out before we had a chance to fix it, and that affected sales."

He admitted that despite subsequent improvements after debugging and patches, the initial flawed release harmed the game's commercial performance. He also suggested that upcoming versions, like those for the Switch 2, would feature enhanced content and fixes.
