Part 9/12:
The End of an Era for Woke Hollywood?
Many industry observers suggest that the era of DEI-driven Hollywood is coming to an end. Even influential academic institutions, such as USC's Annenburg School, acknowledge that DEI initiatives are effectively dead on arrival ("DOA"). The industry is realizing that audiences no longer want politically motivated narratives or stories that diminish traditional hero archetypes.
This realization extends to the failure of major politically charged projects—Captain America: Brave New Garbage, Superman: Mission Impossible, and others—highlighting a rejection of woke storytelling. Hollywood’s attempt to replace male heroes with female or marginalized characters has not resonated, leading to further disillusionment among viewers.
