Part 5/8:
CEO Bob Iger has repeatedly emphasized a philosophy of "quality over quantity", promising to focus on fewer but better films. Ironically, the recent announcement of returning to a schedule of four Marvel films per year seems to contradict this stance. After Thunderbolts' failure, doubling down on quantity appears misguided, especially when the movies consistently underperform or do not resonate with audiences.
The reliance on well-known creators and franchises is also problematic. Marvel's tendency to reuse familiar talent—although it offers comfort and familiarity—has led to a perceived stagnation. Critics argue that the franchise needs fresh voices, innovative ideas, and riskier projects to reignite audience interest.
