Part 2/9:
This week, Disney announced layoffs totaling approximately 7,000 employees, generating headlines worldwide. While high-profile departures such as Ike Pearlmutter—an executive notorious for contentious moments with Disney and known for his past political donations—have drawn attention, the scope of the layoffs extends far beyond individual figures. The cuts include numerous staff members involved in television production, acquisitions, and other key divisions. Notable among the dismissed are Jane Bieber, a senior VP at Freeform; Mark Levinstein, involved in Hulu post-production; and Elizabeth Newman, head of Disney’s acquisitions department.
