In comparison, the first Shazam! outperformed this new entry during its debut, and even more troubling is that Fury of the Gods has performed worse than other recent DC films like Birds of Prey, which also struggled. The steady decline signals a serious disconnect between the movie and audience interest, which in turn dashes any remaining hopes for its survival or continued relevance within the current iteration of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
