One of the fairly universal truisms I took to heart many years ago:
Blowing out someone else's candle doesn't make yours burn ANY brighter
I am very grateful for the upvotes for my art account from both @themarkymark and @buildawhale because the serve as a regular reminder of why I bother.
Sadly, I expect there will always be people with personal axes to grind, and they don't care one tiny bit about the collateral damage caused by their personal vendettas. It all rather reminds me of grade school: "I hate you because you're friends with Jack, who's on the baseball team with Bob, who's friends with Dave who's my sworn enemy!"
