There are a few DEXs built around it and several wallets, some like CakeWallet that has a built in exchange, but I don't even need that. There are marketplaces and businesses that accept it. I just bought an eBay gift card on CakePay with it to buy another computer to mine more of it. I can use it just like I can use really any other crypto, accept it's completely private and mining is actually decentralized with the use of CPUs on the ASIC resistant RandomX algo. Just takes a bit of research. I have been involved with $XMR since I started in crypto in 2017, even before I came to Hive (Steem).
EDIT: It's also the prime currency for all dark web markets, and the most used in commerce. Well that is until this new stablecoin law in the US, but at this point I look at USDT and USDC as CBDCs.
